All Spring Media and ScreenSkills are pleased to announce a call for applications to the ScreenSkills Regional Intern Runner programme.

12th October, 2022 by Ellie Carpenter

Applications are invited from underrepresented groups in the English regional production hubs of Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, and Bristol, who would otherwise struggle to break into the industry.

The ScreenSkills Regional Intern Runner programme is supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions. The internship will consist of a six-month fully funded work placement within a high-end TV production company or production studio facility and involve online media training in the following areas: Industry Overview, Communication Skills, Using Comms on Set, Professional Behaviours, Roles and Responsibilities, and Health and Safety. In addition to other helpful employment skills such as Money Matters, Marketing Yourself and Networking Skills, Sustainable Production, and CPD and Career planning – which shall follow later in the scheme. Interns will also benefit from All Spring Media’s mentoring system, which involves meeting with their mentor every fortnight to monitor their progress in their job roles.

The Project Manager for this Programme at ScreenSkills, Jacqui Taunton Fenton, said: “We are delighted to work alongside All Spring Media to deliver the Regional Runner Internship programme supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions. It aims to create pathways into the media industry for those who may otherwise struggle to break through. We are very excited about the launch of this programme, and we look forward to working with all those involved.”

The application deadline is 22nd October 2022, and All Spring Media are calling on interested applicants to apply as soon as possible. Please apply via the following link: https://asm.picsweb.co.uk/app/Guest/SignUp/Applicant/7cafc32627ce4b3d88ab07794a352eeb?Opportunity=18

Interns must be available for training on the following dates: 7th-11th November, 25th November, 20th January, 24th February and 31st March – all of which will run alongside the work placements.

Chesham-based independent training provider, All Spring Media, is excited to work alongside ScreenSkills in delivering the new Regional Intern Runner Programme and will oversee the training of six individuals in runner internship roles to allow them to kick-start their TV production careers.

Martina Porter, Managing Director of All Spring Media, said: “We are thrilled to be working on the Regional Runner Internship programme with ScreenSkills. Creating direct routes into the Creative Media industries is something we truly value at All Spring Media, with a vast background of supporting people through training, whether that be via traineeships or internships. We now look forward to delving into internships as another valuable means of upskilling a future workforce.”
