All Spring Media and ScreenSkills are pleased to announce a call for production companies to the ScreenSkills Regional Intern Runner programme.

9th November, 2022 by Ellie Carpenter

Applications are invited from underrepresented groups in the English regional production hubs of Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, and Bristol, who would otherwise struggle to break into the industry.

The ScreenSkills Regional Intern Runner programme is a funded internship for people aged 18+, keen to break their way into a career in the industry but who may be struggling to do so through traditional routes. It is an opportunity for production companies to be introduced to new and diverse talent.

Supported by the ScreenSkills High-end TV Skills Fund with contributions from UK high-end TV productions, there are six internships consisting of a six-month fully funded work placement preceded by a week of introductory industry training for the intern with ongoing pastoral support during their placement.

This is a programme in support of industry in the regions, and we are looking for high-end TV production companies or production studios in Bristol, Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield to offer placements, ideally from late-November or early-December 2022. Production companies must also pay into the HETV Fund.

Production companies should be able to take on the intern(s) for the full six months of the programme; interns will be starting out in their media career and may be new to the industry, so they may require some support to start them off. During the placements, the individuals will acquire the confidence and grounding needed to take their next steps into the industry.
