About us

We are a specialist creative and digital media training provider, officially on the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). Only providers on the RoATP are approved to deliver apprenticeship training, having been through an application process with the ESFA that considers due diligence, quality and financial health to assess capability to deliver apprenticeship training.

We work with Levy paying employers to deliver high quality training and consultancy. We are proficient in working with new entrants and diversity, delivering training for Broadcast Production Assistant and Junior Content Producer apprenticeships. All Spring Media sat on both Employer Panels which set the Standards for these apprenticeships, working alongside companies such as Channel 4, Sky, and Bauer Media. Subsequently, Managing Director Martina Porter was then tasked to create the accompanying qualifications, working with Aim Awards.

All Spring Media is experienced in delivering work on budget and to meet the specific needs of each individual client and learner. Our mission is to work with young people from diverse backgrounds, to create pathways into sustainable employment in the creative media sector.

Set up in 2011, All Spring Media has worked with a range of apprenticeships, traineeships and pre-employment schemes. We are passionate about apprenticeships and have worked with them since their launch in 2010 with clients such as BBC, ITV, National Theatre and Global Radio in delivering the Creative and Digital Media Framework and Standards. All training is carried out to industry standard by industry professionals, ensuring it is always relevant and appropriate to the needs of the ever-changing creative media sector landscape.

All Spring Media deliver holistic training which puts a focus on the gaining the skills rather ticking the boxes. We believe this approach to training is more beneficial for the apprentice and creates a more engaging learning environment.

Meet Our Team

Martina Porter
Martina PorterManaging Director
Martina has nearly 20 years’ experience of the independent film sector. She has also considerable experience of developing and delivering training programmes for entrants to the creative industries, right through to professionals wishing to update their skills.

In 2011 Martina set up All Spring Media as a media education consultancy. Prior to that Martina managed the Film and Digital Media Exchange, a £2.5 million project based at the University of Hertfordshire designed to build a bridge between education and the film and digital media industries. Martina was also Head of Skills and Innovation at 01zero-one, where she managed a pilot City and Guilds qualification for new entrants and First Post, an innovative fast track scheme for the post production industries. While Head of Film and Broadcast at TS2k, Martina was successful in raising money from the UK Film Council to create a short digital film fund for black and ethnic filmmakers. Martina has sat on the steering groups of Games Eden, a business development group for the Games Industry in the East of England, and Aurora (formerly the Norwich International Animation Festival).

Martina is a member of BAFTA and she is also a qualified Assessor and IQA.

Ashley Myers
Ashley Myers Contracts Manager
Ashley’s career started in print production, spanning 20 years, initially working in the production department at several large commercial printers.

Ashley eventually moved onto print and project management working at several of the UKs top 10 fully integrated communication and creative agencies. Here Ashley gained experience and knowledge of above, below and through the line communications working with a variety of clients including blue chip, retail and communication companies and charities. These clients included Dell, Sony, Argos, BT and many of the larger charities such as RSPCA, WWF, and WaterAid. For 8 years Ashley specialised in direct marking print and project management for many of her clients and managed marketing budgets of up to £10m.

Ashley has worked alongside digital and graphic designers, art directors and photographers and has a great understanding of the digital and creative sector.

Denise Gardner
Denise GardnerTraining Administrator
Denise has 10 years’ experience working at the BBC. She worked in Outside Broadcasting and was involved in producing costings for the various programmes that her department dealt with. This involved dealing with producers, engineering managers and a variety of technical support people.

Since leaving the BBC Denise moved to the childcare sector, managing various settings and has invaluable experience in safeguarding and how to run successful businesses. She is a fully qualified Tutor/Assessor and has many years’ experience of delivering functional skills and various training programmes based around the needs of the students.

Kristy Glenister
Kristy GlenisterAccounts
Before her career in accounts, Kristy was the IT Helpdesk Supervisor for a large law firm for over 10 years. She was responsible for a support team, servicing more than 100 users from Senior Partner to Archivist.

Since then Kristy has worked in a variety of companies in various industries from import/export, audio visual and more recently communications, both as an administrator and bookkeeper. Within these roles, she worked alongside senior accountants and company directors managing all company financial records and transactions.

Training Staff

All Trainers are industry professionals with a proven track record in training and development. Most of our Trainers are also Assessors, but we also engage specialist trainers such as Camera Operators, Editors and Producers, where appropriate, to deliver technical training. We also have a pool of technical trainers who we use for specific training, such as camera, editing and radio.

Steve Gunter
Steve GunterLondon Trainer/Mentor
Steve has been working in the digital media and IT industries for 25 years. He is an experienced photographer, graphic designer and trainer. Steve has worked on print marketing for clients such as Argos and Sony Europe as well as developing IT solutions for a range of advertising and marketing agencies. Steve has worked with clients including Channel 4, Sun Microsystems, Oracle and Cisco. In 2006, Steve set up his own business working in marketing and digital media and has been helping start-up companies develop their brand identities.
Claire Ellis
Claire Ellis London Trainer/Mentor/Functional Skills Tutor
Claire Ellis started work at the BBC straight from College in the 1980s. She worked in a range of operational and management roles being appointed HR Manager for News in 1998 and moving into a more business-focused Training Manager role in 2000 for Newsgathering and Political Programmes. For 6 years she worked with editors and producers to support learning activities ranging from craft skills to on-air talent development, including a project to screen test over 400 potential reporters.

The training, coaching and support part of the learning environment encouraged Claire to retrain as a tutor and assessor when she left the BBC in 2006. Since then she has worked for a range of public and private organisations including training providers and colleges as a course tutor and assessor in disciplines ranging from creative media and management to social care and customer service.

Claire has navigated many changes in the sector over the past 30 years and remains positive and encouraging to learners, offering information, advice and guidance as required.

John Offord
John OffordSalford Trainer/Mentor
John Offord is a freelance Producer/Director who has extensive experience in TV production, event management and radio production and over 17 years’ experience of working in the broadcast industry. Earlier on in his career, John worked as a researcher for ITV, working on entertainment formats such as ‘You’ve been Framed’ and ‘Celebrity Stars in their eyes’ as well as presenting on ITV1’s ‘Package Holiday’ series.

John has worked as a Producer, Broadcast Journalist, Senior Broadcast Journalist, Broadcast Coordinator and Outreach Manager at the BBC before setting up as a freelance media professional in 2016. John is currently mentoring and supporting the Salford cohort of Broadcast Production Assistants on the BBC Apprenticeship Scheme.

Rem Conway
Rem ConwayBirmingham Trainer/Mentor
In 2011 Rem launched his theatre production company, working with aspiring actors to develop theatre. After producing and directing several plays, Rem wanted to expand my experience and understand the workings of the TV and Film industry. He decided to apply for a Production Apprenticeship scheme with the BBC to get hands on training and experience. After working on productions such as BBC Doctors, Silent Witness and BBC Music Awards, Rem secured a job in Birmingham as a Researcher on BBC Doctors.

During this time, he volunteered as a mentor to undergraduates from Birmingham University, offering them employability skills. Rem was then approached by All Spring Media to become an apprenticeship accessor, working with apprentices to support and encourage their progress within the creative industry. Being a former apprentice, he is able to offer first-hand experience and support that caters to their progression needs.
